Why we need your help
Despite repair and conservation of the the Reigate stone of which the church is constructed by the PCC over many years, the stonework has continued to decay. The lime
shelter coat applied to the tower a number of years ago is now failing, exposing the soft Reigate stone to increased weathering. In places the stonework has eroded back as much as 4 inches
risking failure of the tower faces. In other areas dressed masonry requires careful conservation and in some cases replacement to ensure historic fabric is retained and is structurally sound,
while in other areas, the removal of Portland cement will allow the church building to breath. Finally some work is required to the rainwater installation to ensure water is carried
away from the building effectively. The works are scheduled to be on site by Easter 2010.
